Macor
Machinable Ceramic
Macor
is a Machinable Technical ceramic which is an ideal
prototyping material for use in a vacuum environment at low
or high temperature. Continuous use temperature is 800 C and
the coefficient of thermal expansion matches most metals. It
is non wetting, exhibits zero porosity, and unlike ductile
materials, will not deform. An excellent insulator at high
voltages, various frequencies and high temperatures.
Machining tolerances are excellent at 0.013mm it can also be
machined to a surface finish of 0.5 microns and polished to
a smoothness of 0.013microns. It can be sealed and joined
both to itself and other materials.
